what we believe
Our Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe that the Holy Bible is the written Word of the Living God. We believe it was divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit and recorded by holy men of old. It is infallible in content and a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction which is truth without any mixture of error.
(John 7:16,17; Timothy 3:16-17)
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each person is wholly God, equal in power and glory, and possesses precisely the same attributes and perfection.
(Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:18-20, 4, John 14:5-14, Matthew 3:16,17; 1 John 5:6,7).
Jesus Christ
We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is true God and man. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, and is now our High Priest and Advocate.
(Matthew 1:18; 1 Corinthians 15:4, Mark 16:19)
Salvation
We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God. The terms of salvation are repentance toward God for sin and a personal, heartfelt faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is possible only through God's grace by faith, not by our works.
(Acts 3:19,20; Romans 4:1-5; Ephesians 2:8-10)
ORDIANCES
(Water Baptism/Communion)
We believe that baptism is by immersion in water and the Lord's Supper is a memorial to His suffering and death on the cross. These are ordinances to be observed by the church in its present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means for man's salvation.
(Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:24-27, Matthew 26, 26-28)
Christ's Return
We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His Second Coming to this earth, to meet His Church (Bride) and to judge the world.
(Acts 1:10,11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; James 5:8; Revelation 1:7)
Heaven/Hell
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven, and the everlasting punishment and separation from God of the unsaved in hell.
(John 14:2, Revelations 21:4, 21:22-25; Psalm 27:20, Hebrews 9:27)
Marriage
Marriage is a biblical institution established by God as clearly described in the scriptures. The Bible defines marriage as the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union and a covenant commitment for a lifetime. The Church recognizes only the biblical definition of marriage.
(Genesis 2:18-25, Ephesians 5:22-33, 1 Corinthians 7:39-40, Romans 7:1-3, Genesis 1:26-31)
Autonomy of the Church
We believe in the autonomy of the local church. The Church shall manage its own affairs and shall not be subject to any other religious body or organization.
(1 Peter 5;1-3, Acts 14:23)
